Floating Solar Photovoltaic (PV)
The Floating solar photovoltaic, a relatively new concept, is an emerging technology with the potential of rapid growth. This system refers to any kind of solar panels that float on water. The demand for floating solar PV is expanding, especially on islands.

We all the importance of taking the most potential from the marine and ocean energy sectors. However, it is inevitable to debate whether this growth is going to sacrifice or damage the environment from which it will develop (oceans), as well as it´s species that inhabit it.
COVID-19. THE OPPORTUNITY TO START AGAIN WITH RENEWABLE ENERGIES
It has been almost four months since the Covid-19 appeared around the whole world and, since then, most of the economic sectors seem to have been affected very negatively.
However, despite of the current moment that we are living during this crisis, the renewable energy sector seems to be the only viable way for our economy.

Imagine how difficult it would be to get up and not have the energy to turn on the light. Imagine how difficult it would be to start the day without coffee because the coffeemaker has no energy to work.
WHAT IS WAVE ENERGY?
Who has not stood before the immensity of the sea and been fascinated? Who has ever wondered about its power and strength?
WATER, THE KEY TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
As part of the celebration of World Water Day,it is very important for us to highlight the importance of this element of nature, which is present in everything we see around us.

Read MoreTips for taking care of the oceans
Less plastic produc
Use less plastic products, these generally end up in the sea and lead to the destruction of marine habitats
Try to collect the garbage
Help to take care of the beaches, try to collect the garbage you generate, once you leave the beach
Carry out activities to protect marine habitats
Support organizations that care for the sea, who are part of these groups carry out activities to protect marine habitats and oceans
Reduce energy consumption
It reduces CO2 emissions, and you can do so by trying as much as possible to reduce energy consumption both at home and at work
Waves Dictionary

Power Take Off (PTO)
In SEA TITAN case is the heart of the Wave Energy Converter WECs. Its main function is: to transform the mechanical movement of the waves into electrical energy

Wave Valley
Lowest point reached by a wave in its displacement cycle

Capillary waves
Appear on smooth water when the wind blows, but will die quickly if the wind stops

Swells
When wind waves propagate and are not affected any more by local winds are called swells. These are the most energetic waves around the world

Diffraction:
Process of lateral transfer of energy on the ridges of the waves. It occurs when the wave height at one point is higher than the adjacent values within the same ridge.

Tidal Power
Tidal Power or Tidal Energy, converts the energy obtained from the tides into useful forms of power. Although this renewable is not widely used yet, tidal energy has the potential for future electricity generation.

EMEC
The European Marine Energy Centre, was established in 2003. More than 20 developers have since tested devices at EMEC.

Wave Energy Converter (WEC)
Marine devices capable of converting wave energy into electricity. There are more than 10 different WEC types

Switched Reluctance Machines (SRM)
The principle of the SRM are that each phase is not activated until the corresponding passive pole is fully aligned, starting from misalignment (motor), or the pasive pole is fully misaligned, starting from aligment (generator)

AMSRM
New configuration and geometry of the of a first generation MLSRM, that aims at achieving high continuous and peak force densities and high efficiencies with application to many wave energy conversion technologies.

Wave Crest
Highest point reached by a wave in its movement cycle

Wind waves
A wave directly generated and affected by local wind

Reflection
This phenomenon occurs when the wave hits a vertical obstacle or barrier, the wave is reflected with very little loss of energy.
